Ergonomic Workplace Hazards

Types of work, body positions, and working conditions that put strain on you body, are all ergonomic work hazards.  They can be hard to spot because you may become very involved in your work that you do not notice the strain being put on your body and if you do notice, you may not know the effect(s) of it.  The effects of the ergonomic hazards can be short-term, possibly resulting in sore muscules, or they can be long-term, resulting in serios long-term injuries.

Some examples of ergonomic work hazards are:

  • Poor lighting
  • Poor posture
  • Repetitive movements
